TULSA, OK -- Hundreds of Tulsans got their flu shot without getting out of their car on Friday. The Tulsa Health Department held a free drive thru flu clinic near 51st Street and 129th East Avenue.
In the couple hours, the department says it vaccinated about 500 people. While the health department says offering the drive thru clinic is convenient, it's not the only reason they have it.
"It actually tests our emergency response system. If there were a public health emergency in Tulsa County that required mass vaccinations this is the type of setup we would do," said the health department's Melanie Christian.
