PROVIDENCIALES, Turks and Caicos (AP) - Hurricane Hanna is battering the Bahamas and forecasters say it could pose a threat to the southeastern U.S. later in the week.
Hanna has been bringing wind and heavy surf to the Bahamas and Turks and Caicos islands.
Its path is uncertain. One forecaster at the National Hurricane Center says "it could hit anywhere from Miami to the Outer Banks of North Carolina."
Swells from Hanna will increase the risk of dangerous rip currents along portions of the Southeast coast over the next couple of days.
After Hanna, there's Ike -- still about 1,400 miles out in the Atlantic. The storm is expected to become a hurricane as it too approaches the Bahamas.
