Fresh on the heels of David Cook's American Idol win, a trio of locals hope there is karma in being from Tulsa. They are auditioning for a new CBS reality show called, "Jingles." News On 6's Rick Wells reports, they're filled with enthusiasm and heading for Chicago.

Michele Vandusen, Susan Dale and Billy Smith hope a jingle audition submitted to Mark Burnett executive producer of "Jingles" will get them on the show and beyond. "Jingles" is a new reality show heading to CBS this summer.

"The concept of the show, it's like American Idol where people will vote and teams of two or three will right jingles," said Susan Dale, comedian.

Susan and Michele have done comedy bits together for years. That's how the producers of the show found them, but the ladies knew they needed to add a musician to the team.

"I've played sax for 27 years, piano for 25; plus, I write and I'm a photographer on top of that. So, I wear lots of different hats," said Billy Smith, musician.

They all wear different hats. Susan works in a restaurant. Billy works for the postal service, and The News On 6 met them in a classroom because Michele is teaching there this week.

The team produced a spot for a made up product called, "Fruit It Up." They submitted it to the producers and they liked it.

"She already let us know she loves it. She liked what she saw," said Dale.

So, they were invited to come to Chicago for another round of auditions after the holiday. Success there, could land them a spot on the show. The News On 6's Rick Wells says he thinks it was Billy in the banana suit that did the trick.

Good luck. "Jingles" premieres on Sunday July 27, on Channel 6.
