Parts of Green Country were under a Winter Storm Watch and Advisory on Monday morning as a system dropped freezing rain on Northeastern Oklahoma and Southern Kansas.  Some school districts canceled classes because of the ice.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol warned drivers to use extreme caution on the roadways.    Drivers who live in counties which did not receive as much wintery weather also experienced travel problems.  Just before 1:00 a.m. on Monday morning, a woman lost control while traveling in the Westbound lanes of the Broken Arrow Expressway. Her S.U.V. hit a wall near 129th East Avenue.  She was not hurt.

The bridge at Garnett and the Broken Arrow Expressway seemed to be another trouble spot. Around 1:45 a.m. on Monday morning, the driver of a Jeep lost control and hit the wall. No one was hurt in that accident.
