It's spirit week at Mingo Valley Christian School which means help for needy families in Tulsa. It's an annual tradition for the school and John 3:16 Mission, where elementary students divide into teams and compete against each other for the most food. This year the students collected over three tons of food and toiletry items.
The school superintendent, Dennis Queen, says the 5th grade class will then go to John 3:16 Mission to see how powerful the food drive can be.
"None of them have ever been hungry. and we want them to know there's a world out there very different from their own," said Queen.
Mingo Valley Christian School is the number one food provider for the John 3:16 family services.
