Families with seriously ill children can spend long, exhausting hours at the hospital, that's why Ronald McDonald Charities is helping parents relax while kids receive life-saving care. On Tuesday, Ronald McDonald and friends dedicated the Ronald McDonald Family Room at the OSU Medical Center.

The new room allows parents to enjoy the comforts of home without leaving the building. It includes a full bathroom, laundry facilities plus cable TV and internet access.

Tulsa currently has a Ronald McDonald House but it's not located within the hospital.

â€œIt's nice for them to have an opportunity just to get away from the room maybe while the child is asleep and just to relax and take it easy,â€ said Jody Worley, University of Oklahoma Professor.
