A truck accident and resulting fire on Interstate 44 shuts down the highway for a time Monday afternoon. Tulsa Fire officials say because of the fire, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol shut down the interstate highway in both directions just east of Yale. The highway has since re-opened to traffic.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says the accident involved the truck and a car. Troopers say the car was parked along I-44 and was not occupied at the time of the accident.
