DALLAS (AP) -- Matthew Lombardi scored twice, including the overtime winner, and the Calgary Flames rallied to beat the Dallas Stars 3-2 Friday night for their first victory of the season.

Matthew Lombardi took possession of the puck deep in the Dallas zone after a turnover by Stars captain Brenden Morrow. He then beat Dallas goaltender Marty Turco from the inside edge of the left circle at 3:20 of overtime.

Jerome Iginla also scored for the Flames. Miikka Kiprusoff stopped 24 shots.

Mike Modano's goal for Dallas moved him within four points of matching Phil Housley's record for U.S.-born players, and Niklas Hagman continued his strong start with another goal.

Modano's one-timer from the left circle at 4:27 of the opening period was his first goal of the season, giving him 1,228 career points in his 1,243rd game, putting Dallas in front.

Phil Housley registered 1,232 points in 1,495 games.

Mike Modano has 508 goals, the most for any U.S.-born player.

Jerome Iginla connected for his first goal of the season with 22 seconds left in the opening period on a wrist shot from beyond the right circle that got by a screened Marty Turco. His goal came after he missed the net on a breakaway with about 3:35 left in the first.

Niklas Hagman's power-play goal from the left circle at 9:05 of the second was his fifth goal in five games, giving Dallas a 2-1 lead.

But, Matthew Lombardi skated up the left side and picked his first goal of the season at 10:46 of the third period to tie it at 2.

Marty Turco made 23 saves for the Stars. Dallas had won its previous seven home games against Calgary.
