Broken Arrow Police are still working limited leads when it comes to finding the man who abducted and raped a five-year-old girl. News On 6 reporter Joshua Brakhage reports that detectives are hoping to get more information from the Tulsa crime lab.
Forensics experts are examining the little girl's clothes and shoes right now.
The Broken Arrow neighborhood is still in shock.
They can't believe someone would kidnap a little girl from her front yard, rape her, and dump her eight miles away at the end of a dead end road. And it all happened in the early evening, around six o'clock Thursday.
Broken Arrow Police clamped down on traffic in the neighborhood Friday, stopping cars entering and leaving the area.
Frightened parents say they're walking a fine line between protecting their children and letting their kids be kids.
"I don't want her to be afraid to stay in her own yard, but at the same time, I don't want her to be brave enough to let someone in to see her kittens or see her little pony, cause they could say anything to get in here, and it just takes a second. It just takes a second to get them to walk out the gate," says Donna Fisher.
That frightened mother lives in the neighborhood.
Broken Arrow Police have little to go on in their investigation.
Friday, authorities said they were looking for a white man in a white vehicle. Saturday, it was confirmed the vehicle is a car, but they're still not sure on the make or model.
