COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) -- Tyson Chandler of the New Orleans Hornets is one of 17 players expected for U.S.A. Basketball's training camp for the senior national team, which will run from Friday through Sunday in Las Vegas.

After the camp, 12 players will be chosen to represent the U.S. in the FIBA Americas Championship, which will be held from August 22nd through September 2nd in Las Vegas.

The tournament will determine the two teams from the Americas that will qualify for the 2008 Olympic Games.

Hornets point guard Chris Paul usually is in the national-team pool but is sitting out this summer after recovering from foot surgery.
