Power crews aren't the only ones staying busy because of the ice storm. Business is booming at repair shops specializing in chainsaws. The sound of a chainsaw is music to Robert Christie's ears. News On 6 anchor Omar Villafranca reports his business is buzzing since the storm knocked down thousands of trees.

"We're selling out of oil. We're selling out of saws. We're selling out of chain. And, we're ordering in new ones every day," said Robert Christie of All Saw Services, Inc. "We see a lot of people dragging that old saw out of the corner and they bring it in here, and we take the gas cap off and it smells like varnish in the tank."

Robert says most of his customers are the do-it-yourself types, who don't want to pay several hundred dollars for someone else to clean up their yard. He closed the store earlier this month for winter, but one of those customers called him at home for their chainsaw. Once he reopened his doors, he’s been busy.

"Three people followed him in the door and I said can I help you and they said yes, we want to buy a chainsaw, so I sold three chainsaws right away,” said Robert Christie of All Saw Services, Inc.

Robert now spends his winter holiday playing doctor to damaged chainsaws. And, he’s also playing Santa to people trying to pick up after the ice storm.

“I imagine a lot of people are getting a chainsaw for Christmas this year and they're getting to use it,” said Robert Christie of All Saw Services, Inc.
