HUGO, Okla. (AP) -- An Oklahoma state senator accused of drunk driving has entered a not guilty plea to the charge in Choctaw County court. District Attorney Laura Ross Wallis says Senator Jeff Rabon was arraigned Wednesday on a charge of aggravated drunken driving.
Hugo Police arrested the 45-year-old Democrat in August after he allegedly ran his car into a truck, which struck another vehicle.
Rabon did not submit to a breath-analysis test, but blood drawn from him at a hospital showed that his blood alcohol level was .16, double the legal limit for operating a motor vehicle.
Rabon is expected to appear in court again on December 19th, when prosecutors and Rabon's defense attorneys will discuss the evidence and possible settlement for the misdemeanor case.
