Police ID Officers Killed In Crash

An off-duty Tulsa Police Officer and a retired Tulsa Police Corporal were killed Saturday afternoon in a car accident. It happened in Glenpool at 136th Street South and Highway 75 at 4:30 p.m., said Glenpool police. The Tulsa Police Department tells The News On 6 that Officer Sue Wallace was reportedly attempting to make a left turn onto Highway 75 from a private drive when her vehicle was struck by a vehicle traveling Southbound on Highway 75. It is not known at this time if anyone was injured in the second car.

Officer Sue Wallace and her husband, retired Tulsa Police Corporal George Wallace, were both pronounced dead on the scene.

The news has hit the Tulsa Police Department pretty hard.

"I had the opportunity to work both with Corporal Wallace and Officer Sue Wallace, they were great individuals," Tulsa Police Officer Leland Ashley said. "We are a family, it's tough. Whether on duty or off, when you loose a brother or sister officer it's a tough situation."

Officer Sue Wallace had been with the Tulsa Police Department since September 1986. Corporal Wallace retired from the department in November 1996 after more than 26 years of service. Funeral arrangements are pending.
