MARIETTA, Ga. (AP) -- The family of an American hostage and former Oklahoman in Iraq has received official news that he's dead.
A family spokesman says US officials confirm the headless body turned over to them yesterday in Iraq is that of Jack Hensley.
Hensley is a former Ponca City resident and graduated high school there in 1973.
He was kidnapped in Iraq last week along with another American -- who was also beheaded this week. Another man, a British contractor, was also taken captive.
The family received the news Wednesday -- on what would have been Hensley's 49th birthday.
Earlier Wednesday, Hensley's brother, Ty Hensley, said his brother's wife is "extraordinarily devastated."
