A long-time church leader is taking a much-deserved day off. People came from all over the country to see Fellowship Congregational Church Pastor Russell Bennett give his final sermon Sunday.

Many stayed for a luncheon and a special performance by the choir. Pastor Bennett says the church has a lot to be proud of in his 36 years of service. "Our becoming an open and affirming congregation, welcoming gay and lesbian people, as well as straight people. Everybody is God's children, no outsiders in God's family. The completion of our educational building, our being a peace and justice church, very clear stands in the community on issues that affect all people."

Pastor Bennett may be retired, but he says his wife has a long list of things planned for him to do.
