The road to the White House wound through Oklahoma Wednesday night. Democratic vice presidential candidate John Edwards spoke at a fundraiser in Oklahoma City.

About 250 people attended some paying $10,000 to the Democratic National Committee to hear the candidate speak.

While Edwards touched on several election issues, he first discussed the swift boat ads and the attack on John Kerry's war record. "These ads were intended to say something about the character of John Kerry. The truth is everyday they continue to run they say something about the character of the President of the United States."

During the 1-minute speech, Edwards also promised to bring tax relief to the middle class. Edwards' campaign is now headed to Colorado and New Mexico.
