OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- The 120 members of the 45th Infantry Brigade who served in Afghanistan for about a year got a rousing homecoming in Oklahoma City Saturday.

Family members, friends and others were on hand to greet the Oklahoma National Guard unit at the Southern Hills Baptist Church.

Governor Henry called the brigade the greatest fighting force in the world and told the soldiers they were missed.

Connie Scharbor echoed that sentiment. She and her son, Specialist Justin Scharbor, wept as they hugged each other tightly.

Justin Scharbor says he plans to return to his criminal justice studies at the University of Central Oklahoma but not before spending time with his family.

His mother says she's gotten more gray hairs since his departure but is excited her 20-year-old son is back home.
