(Oklahoma City-AP) -- After nearly 60 years, many Oklahoma World War Two veterans are pleased to have a memorial in Washington, D-C.
Today, tens of thousands of veterans have come to the World War Two Memorial for its dedication. The 174 (m) million-dollar monument opened last month.
Clinton resident Max Lacey says the monument's been slow in coming, but he's glad it's here.
Veteran Robert Posey plans to celebrate the dedication this weekend from his mountain home outside Wilburton.
He says he'll remember his fallen and missing fellow soldiers. Posey says he'll never forget serving in the war, surviving the D-Day invasion of Normandy and the Battle of the Bulge.
U-S Army veteran Marvin Humphrey of Rocky will remember the young men who died before they got a chance to grow up.
And so will the others who visit the memorial in Washington
