A Green Country University has begun building its field of dreams.

Northeastern State University and the community of Tahlequah broke ground Saturday for renovations at Gable Field and Doc Wadley Stadium.

The city collected $2-million through a half-cent sales tax back in 2002 to help fund the renovations but the state Court of Civil Appeals later ruled the tax "invalid."

Tahlequah voters approved the improvements again earlier this year.
