(Oklahoma City-AP) -- A former Oklahoma State basketball player is riding a bicycle more than 2,000 miles to raise money for the Baptist Theological Seminary of Southern Mexico.

Alisa Duncan played for the Cowgirls from 1985 to 1989. She was scheduled to end her 36-day trip at the Baptist General Convention of Oklahoma Thursday.

She and three traveling companions have stopped at several churches in Mexico and the United States to pray for the communities and the two nations.

Duncan has been working for the seminary for more than five years. The Oklahoma Baptist group recently formed a partnership with the Baptist General Convention of Guerrero, where the seminary is located.

Duncan and her entourage hoped to raise $100,000 for the seminary.
