Despite numerous studies on the Tar Creek Superfund site, a medical researcher says there's not enough data to measure the health hazards.
The report by a University of Kansas professor suggests a reasonable probability that pollution is partly responsible for numerous ailments suffered by residents in the area. Adults in the area have had health problems including tuberculosis, kidney failure and heart disease.
The 40-square-mile area is contaminated by waste left from decades of lead and zinc mining.
