An early morning accident trapped a woman in her car, and shut down a Tulsa highway.

The accident happened around 3:15 AM Tuesday. Firefighters say the driver was westbound on Highway 11 at the Highway 75 intersection, but couldn't make up her mind which way she wanted to go. Instead she hit a safety barrier head on.

Emergency crews closed the highway to get her out. They had to cut the top off the car and back doors as well. The woman was taken to a local hospital; she does not have life threatening injuries.

Authorities say alcohol did play a role in the accident.
