(Miami, Oklahoma-AP) -- A man who used to hear criminal cases as an Ottawa County judge has been charged with two felonies.

Former Associate District Judge Orvan Hanson was arrested Friday on charges of knowingly making a false statement with the intent to procure title for a known stolen vehicle and possession of a known stolen vehicle.

Hanson was arrested after appearing in court on an unrelated matter.

Police allege the 62-year-old bought his employee's vehicle from an auto repair shop for 25-hundred dollars when the worker couldn't pay the bill.

The car's identification numbers were checked through a national crime computer, which found it had been stolen from a Fort Smith, Arkansas, rental agency in 2000.

Hanson allegedly admitted using correction fluid to cover the stolen description on the title.
