(New Orleans-AP) -- At the Superdome in New Orleans, Director of Public Relations Bill Curl's answering machine has the following message:
``Thanks for not calling about Sugar Bowl Tickets.''
Everyone who has even a vague connection to the January fourth game is being inundated with requests -- please, please get me tickets.
Number 2 LSU will play number 3 Oklahoma in the Bowl Championship Series title game. The winner may earn only half the national title, since Southern Cal is ranked number 1 in the Associated Press poll.
But that hasn't dampened the demand for tickets.
Tickets for the game never went on sale to the general public. Many tickets were gobbled up by corporate sponsors, ABC, which will televise the game, government officials and others with ties to the bowl.
