(Tulsa-AP) -- WilTel Communications Group is suing a former employee on allegations he downloaded trade secrets from a company computer before resigning and going to work for a competitor.
The lawsuit alleges that WilTel's former director of product marketing Alan Yarborough intentionally misappropriated confidential and proprietary information.
The lawsuit also alleges Yarborough violated WilTel's confidentiality agreement.
WilTel is seeking more than 10-thousand dollars in damages, an injunction and temporary restraining order preventing Yarborough from disclosing the proprietary information.
Yarborough is vice president and general manager of voice business for Level Three Communications, a Broomfield, Colorado-based broadband provider.
WilTel says any competitor would have an advantage in the marketplace by having the information Yarborough is accused of taking.
