(Weatherford-AP) -- Southwestern Oklahoma men's basketball coach George Hauser will retire from coaching after 27 seasons with the Bulldogs.

Hauser made the announcement Saturday before the team's game against East Central.

Hauser guided the Bulldogs to six conference titles and his 1995 squad won the Oklahoma Intercollegiate Conference postseason tournament and qualified for the NAIA national tournament.

Hauser began his career as a high school coach at Covington.

Hauser also was a coach at Bacone Junior College in Muskogee for five years. He spent three years at American Christian College in Tulsa before going to Southwestern.

Hauser boasts a 58.55% winning record, which started with his time as a high school coach.

His record stands at 710-and-503.
