Some of Tulsa's best and brightest got together to honor Tulsa Public Schools Teacher of the Year.

Superintendent Dr David Sawyer along with fellow teachers, family and friends gathered for the celebration held Thursday night at the Southern Hills Marriott. After a dinner, it was time for the big announcement. And the winner is, Ginger Mendenhall from Marshall Elementary. "Oh My, I feel like Miss America."

Mendenhall was one of nine area school teachers honored at the event.
