ATLANTA (AP) _ The Atlanta Tipoff Club has announced the names of finalists for the Naismith College Basketball Coach of the Year Awards, including Roy Williams of top-ranked Kansas and No. 2 Maryland's Gary Williams.
Oklahoma's Kelvin Sampson and Eddie Sutton of Oklahoma State also are on the list.
Geno Auriemma of No. 1 Connecticut and Tara VanDeveer of second-ranked Stanford head the list of women's coaches. Oklahoma's Sherri Coale also is a finalist.
The winners will be honored in Atlanta on April 5, along with college players of the year and other Naismith award winners.
