LANGSTON, Okla. (AP) _ Harold E. Johnson has been named the 15th head football coach at Langston University, officials announced Monday.

Johnson had been coach at South High School in Denver since 1998, where he led the team to a city league championship and the state playoffs.

Before he arrived, the Denver high school hadn't won a game in two seasons.

Johnson succeeds Theodore Alexander, who posted a 17-30 record during five seasons.
