NORMAN, Okla. (AP) _ Oklahoma coach Sherri Coale was far from satisfied with the No. 3 Sooners' effort.
``I didn't think we played very hard. I thought we were lethargic and kind of went through the motions,'' Coale said after Oklahoma's 76-60 victory over Texas Christian on Tuesday night.
``I'll tell you what, we're going to have to be better than that to win in the Big 12.''
The Sooners (6-0) committed 22 turnovers, a number that was offset by TCU's 32 turnovers. After a sluggish start, Oklahoma began pulling away midway through the first half and was never threatened the rest of the way.
LaNeishea Caufield scored 24 points, and Stacey Dales added 21 points and 11 rebounds. Dales also had five assists to break the school and Big 12 career records with 605.
Oklahoma held TCU post player Sandora Irvin to just three points. At 6-foot-4, Irvin was much taller than any Sooner but Oklahoma managed to keep the ball out of her hands.
``I thought our perimeter players did a nice job of keeping pressure on the ball, which prevented them from seeing her, maybe, when she did get open,'' Coale said. ``I sure thought Jamie Talbert did a great job on her inside as well.''
TCU coach Jeff Mittie said his young team struggled against the veteran Sooners.
``They switched from a 1-3-1 to a man-to-man and that confused some of our young players,'' Mittie said. ``They're a veteran team that has played together and you can see that on both ends.''
Grace Gantt led TCU (2-2) with 14 points, and Ebony Shaw added 10 points and nine rebounds.
Oklahoma led 41-29 at halftime and gradually pulled away. TCU shot just 33.9 percent from the field and hit only 4-of-24 3-point attempts.
