It's a small store, and in the three years that I have lived in their neighborhood, there has never had a great deal of traffic. Not today. Customers from all over Green Country have been lining up outside Liberty Flags at 26th and Sheridan ever since the Attack on America. Three days after the tragedy, the parking lot of the formerly sleepy strip mall is packed. I spoke with people who have waited 2 hours to work their way into the front door.
It's a heartening show of unity - an understated display of patience and resolve from our fellow citizens. And I see a sign in the faces of those in the line. These Americans will go to great lengths to get their flags. Just imagine the lengths our great nation will go to in the war that will undoubtedly follow.
