TULSA, Okla. (AP) _ The Tulsa Area United Way and Tulsa Community Foundation established a disaster relief fund to benefit victims of Tuesday's terrorist attacks and their families.

A portion of the dollars collected will be granted to ``The September 11th Fund,'' a collaborative effort led by United Way of America and Council on Foundations. Other dollars will stay in the local area to help with any local repercussions from Tuesday's events, officials said.

Donors can make a contribution to the Tulsa Community Foundation Disaster Relief Fund at any Bank of Oklahoma branch or by sending a check to the foundation at 7010 S. Yale, Tulsa, Okla. 74136.

Meanwhile, Tulsa fire officials urged residents to be wary of telephone solicitations from people claiming they are firefighters raising funds for victims of Tuesday's terrorist attacks.

Authorities said they had learned that someone was making such calls to Tulsa residents.

``That is a false request,'' Fire Chief Tom Baker said. ``There is nothing coming from our firefighters union or the international that is legitimate in any way.''
