(Oklahoma City-AP) -- 50,000 people are expected to ring in the new year in downtown Oklahoma City this year.
Opening Night 2003 -- a tradition started in 1987 -- will have 37 performances from concerts to a scavenger hunt.
The events, beginning at 7 PM are sponsored by the Arts Council of Oklahoma City.
A fireworks show caps off the evening at midnight.
About 40,000 people attended the party last year.
