OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ A federal grand jury indicted three people on Wednesday in connection with the armed robbery of a Stillwater credit union.
Sally Brooke Davis, Russell M. Cozart and Scott Edward Sawyer are accused of robbing the University and Community Federal Credit Union on Oct. 17.
According to an FBI affidavit, a man and a woman entered the bank shortly before 3 p.m. that day, carrying what appeared to be semiautomatic handguns. They ordered a teller at gunpoint to hand over large bills from the teller drawers.
The pair fled the bank after ordering employees to the floor, witnesses said. They fled in a black car driven by another man, the affidavit states.
Sheriff's deputies in Scott County, Ark., stopped Sawyer's car about six hours later about 40 miles south of Fort Smith, Ark. The trio were arrested on bank robbery complaints.
Davis, a 22-year-old Maud resident, Cozart, 19, of Clyde, Texas, and Sawyer, a 19-year-old Yukon resident, were interviewed by FBI agents Oct. 18.
According to the affidavit, they admitted their involvement in the robbery and signed confessions.
If convicted of bank robbery with a firearm, the three face up to 25 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
