(Oklahoma City-AP) -- The state's largest city has the state's highest crime rate, but the number of crimes is down.
Oklahoma City reports more than 90 crimes per 1,000 residents in 2001, a decline of 7% from 2000.
The crime figures are reported in the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation's 2001 Uniform Crime Report for the state.
In cities with more than 5,000 population, Oklahoma City is followed by Sallisaw, Muskogee, Tulsa and Ardmore with the highest crime rates.
The Tulsa suburb of Glenpool reports the lowest rate with 15 crimes per 1,000 people. Glenpool is followed with the lowest crime rate by Jenks, Perry, Tecumseh, Choctaw, Bixby, Edmond, Mustang and Vinita.
