Tulsa's police lab got its new DNA computer on line Monday. The computer is linked with a regional database of people's DNA.
Scientists can now compare DNA found at crime scenes or on victims and run it against DNA in the computer. If they find a match, they could solve the crime. Anyone in Oklahoma convicted of murder, rape, robbery, burglary and other violent crimes since the mid 1990's must give a DNA sample when they go to prison.
The goal is to next make the database nationwide.
