A national horse association says it will keep a national show in Tulsa, because of improvements at the fairgrounds.
The new livestock arena opened just before the fair last year. Since then, new barns have replaced the old wooden barns built in the 1940's. Because of the improvements - paid for by taxpayers - the annual Palomino show will stay in Tulsa for at least another five years.
Cindy Chilton with the Palomino Horse Breeders of America: "With the horse value running from $10,000 to a half million dollars, we had to have adequate housing for those horse awaiting competition."
The show takes place each summer. The Tulsa State Fair begins in a week.
