The American Red Cross played host to kids and their parents Thursday. It was the free Red Cross Disaster Fair near Highway 169 and 11th Street.
Kids got activity books; balloons and popcorn and Youth Involvement volunteers taught the kids about tornadoes, floods, fires and thunderstorms in a way they could easily understand.
Camille Sartain with the American Red Cross: "This is a way for us to educate our young people about these disasters that do happen and to make them better prepared for them."
Thursday was the first day for the event, but the Red Cross hopes to have more of these types of programs.
