A master plan for the complete overhaul of the home of the OSU Cowboys has been submitted. All that's left is a final sign-off of the documents by OSU officials.
The project is the brainchild of former OSU athletic director Terry Don Phillips. Phillips called the stadium an eyesore and suggested it gave a negative influence to football recruiting and the university's overall image.
Renovations are projected to cost between 80 million and 100 million dollars. The project will add 11,000 extra seats to the stadium, boosting its capacity to 73,000.
Work is expected to be complete by late 2004.
