A Tulsa teenager is one of only four students nationwide representing the U.S. at an international competition in chemistry.

Timothy Davenport is a graduate of the School for Math and Science in Oklahoma City. Davenport will be going to the Netherlands to compete against delegates from 49 other countries in the International Chemistry Olympiad. He's thrilled about the trip, and the opportunity. "I decided at the beginning of the year I would try for this chemistry Olympiad and I made it. It was really exciting."

This fall, Davenport will be studying chemical engineering at MIT. A student from Edmond is also one of the four delegates representing the United States.
