Cleaning up the I-40 bridge collapse is going to be costly. The Oklahoma Department of Transportation estimates it will take about $15-million.

That price tag includes demolition, re-building and maintaining the roads being used as detours. There are questions whether the piers and the bridge should have been able to withstand Sunday morning's impact. ODOT says no.

Inspectors are now trying to figure out what they have left to work with. They believe they still have a good sound structure. ODOT engineer, Bruce Taylor, "We don't think we've got any damage beyond the canal area where the structures had been impacted."

Engineers are also trying to figure out what to do about the piece of highway resting on the barges. No recovery can take place underneath, until that's all gone.
