A Tulsa Girl Scout troop held a unique flag retiring ceremony Monday. Hoover Elementary troop 397 retired their school's state flag Monday morning.

The flag has flown at the school for nearly 50 years; it will be put on display in a trophy case. Monday's ceremony was special in more ways than one. Aurora Veal, Assistant troop leader, "We have eleven girls, nine of them going to different middle schools next year, this was something they could do as a group and leave to the school."

A new state flag will replace the old one.
