The second train-car collision this week ends with another death.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says 68-year-old Harold Alberding of Sapulpa was killed Wednesday evening, when his pickup truck was struck by a train at 181st Street South and US Highway 75 near Mounds.
The truck was pushed more than a quarter of a mile before it came to a stop. The driver died on impact. Oklahoma Highway Patrol trooper Shawn Ezel: "When you are coming up on a railroad crossing by all means, stop, pay attention, look around, and don't be in a hurry."
Earlier this week, a 23-year old Claremore woman was killed when she drove through crossing arms and was hit by a train in Verdigris.
