MADILL, Okla. (AP) _ A 16-year-old Texas boy drowned Saturday on Lake Texoma, the Oklahoma Lake Patrol reported.

The patrol said Marvin W. Pendergraft of Quail, Texas, drowned in Cumberland Cove.

Pendergraft started to struggle while swimming about 35 feet from shore. Two others tried to rescue him but were unsuccessful, the patrol said.

The drowning occurred about 3 p.m. The victim's body was recovered about 1 hour, 45 minutes later.
