LOS ANGELES (AP) _ Madonna will perform throughout Europe and America this summer in her first live tour since 1993.

``The Drowned World Tour'' will begin June 5 in Cologne, Germany, and end Sept. 9 at the Staples Center in downtown Los Angeles, promoters SFX Entertainment Inc., a subsidiary of Clear Channel Communications, said Monday.

The Grammy winner will appear in 18 cities including London, Paris, Philadelphia, New York and Atlanta.

Madonna is expected to perform material from her current hit album ``Music'' and her last CD ``Ray of Light,'' as well as songs from throughout her career.

The 42-year-old pop star, who wed British film director Guy Ritchie in December, last went on tour eight years ago with ``The Girlie Show.''
