(Tulsa-AP) -- American Airlines is considering spending 50 million dollars to upgrade its maintenance base at Tulsa.

American is proposing a 50 million dollar bond issue to pay for improvements even though plans to integrate the Kansas City, Missouri-based maintenance operations of Trans World Airlines aren't complete. American purchased TWA on Monday.

American's preliminary plans are to move all the work on its fleet of Boeing 757's to Tulsa, that work is now shared with the airline's maintenance base in Fort Worth, Texas.

American vice president Dan Huffman says a final plan for the Tulsa, Kansas City and Fort Worth bases will be complete ``in a couple of months.''
