COLUMBIA, Mo. (AP) _ A Tulsa airline holding company has bought a stake in Ozark Airlines, company officials announced Tuesday.

Ozark chairman Wes Stricker said the company would continue its operations as a subsidiary of Great Plains. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Jim Swartz, chief executive at Great Plains, said adding Ozark will let his company to prepare for regional jet service from Tulsa to New York and Washington, D.C.

Ozark began offering service under the Ozark name again last February.

The old Ozark Airlines was absorbed by Trans World Airlines in October 1986 after 36 years of Ozark service.
