STILLWATER, Okla. (AP) _ Announcers from around the Big 12 Conference will handle the basketball play-by-play duties for Oklahoma State in the wake of broadcaster Bill Teegins' death, it was announced Friday.
Teegins was among 10 people, including two OSU basketball players, killed in a plane crash in Colorado last Saturday night.
Replacing him will be a rotation of announcers from across the conference.
University of Oklahoma announcer Bob Barry Sr. will broadcast the Missouri-Oklahoma State game from Stillwater Monday. Barry announced Cowboys games for many years before becoming the Sooner announcer.
He will sit beside color announcer Tom Dirato, who switched from the plane that crashed to another OSU plane just before takeoff Saturday night.
A schedule of announcers for the rest of the games has not been set.
The announcers will donate the fee they receive to a scholarship fund set up on behalf of Teegins. It will be matched by donations from Learfield Communications.
The proceeds are expected to contribute $10,000 to the scholarship fund.
