(Tulsa-AP) -- The Texas Rangers have named Paul Carey the manager of the Double-A Tulsa Drillers for next year.
Carey has managed the Rangers' Class-A affiliate in Savannah the past three years. He succeed James Byrd, whose contract was not renewed.
General Manager Chuck Lamson says Texas officials think highly of Carey, and says he believes Carey will be aggressive.
Five Savannah players stole at least 20 bases last season.
