(Norman-AP) -- The Heisman Trophy chances of Oklahoma quarterback Josh Heupel (HY'-pul) are improving.

After leading O-U to consecutive wins over Texas and Kansas State, Heupel's name is starting to show up on several unofficial Heisman watch lists.

Now, the senior has also received a letter from the Downtown Athletic Club's Heisman Trophy Committee.

The letters are sent to perceived candidates for the award. It advises them that they may be one of the five players invited to attend the award ceremony in New York on December Fifth.
